There are too many back-references to past events, too many extraneous issues and too many characters to keep track of." Crumbs! Meanwhile, Ken Bruen's Cross got an intellectual grilling over at The Guardian last week, in which Bruen's sixth outing for former 'Guarda' (sic) officer Jack Taylor becomes a "compelling portrait of a haunted man" in a tale that's "less a whodunit than a what-to-do-about-it". Which is nice ...
